Select the affected images in Grid view and open Edit Capture Time. Use the option to shift the time by a set number of hours, checking the direction against a photo whose actual time you know. Keep unrelated cameras or correctly timed sessions out of the selection. A consistent offset is suitable for a shared clock error, while mixed timing problems need separate groups.
Use Revert Capture Time To Original rather than relying on the normal Undo command for this metadata change. Select the affected photos carefully and check a known timestamp after reverting. Keep a note of intentional time corrections when organizing several cameras, because restoring the original camera time may also restore its original error. Reverting is useful when the correction itself was applied to the wrong images.
Use the Library Quick Develop controls for a relative adjustment to the selected images. That changes each photo from its current setting instead of replacing all of them with one absolute value. Inspect the selection and compare a few results afterward. This suits a group that needs a shared nudge but already contains individually balanced photographs that should keep their differences.
Reset All returns the photo to its applicable default development settings. Those defaults can include nonzero adjustments, so reset and zero are different ideas. Check the active defaults before treating the result as an error. Use the appropriate zeroed settings only when that is your actual goal, and compare the rendered image rather than assuming a row of zero values necessarily represents the camera's intended appearance.
Open the second display window, choose Loupe, and use Locked mode for the reference photograph. This keeps that view fixed while your main selection changes. Normal follows the selected photo and Live can follow the pointer, so check the chosen mode when the reference unexpectedly changes. A locked comparison view is useful for maintaining visual consistency without repeatedly returning to the same image in the main window.
Most commands use the main window's selection, even when another photograph is displayed in the secondary window. Check the active selection before applying a rating or other change. Use the secondary window's context menu when you intend an operation specifically supported there. A visible reference image and the actively selected image can differ, so display position alone does not establish which photo a command will target.
The preset may have been saved without Support Amount Slider enabled, or its selected settings may not support that feature. When creating or updating a compatible preset, check that option in the preset dialog. Do not assume the slider is broken simply because it works with another preset. Its availability depends on what the preset contains and how the preset author chose to save it.
Edit at least two reference images with different ISO values, select them, and create a preset with Create ISO Adaptive Preset enabled. Include the settings you want to vary. Lightroom uses those references to calculate suitable intermediate values for other ISO settings. The option is unavailable when the selection lacks multiple ISO values, so check the reference images before troubleshooting the preset dialog.
A PDF export does not preserve the slideshow's music and full playback behavior. Export a video when you need the soundtrack and timed presentation combined in one playable result. Review that video from beginning to end before sharing it. A PDF can still serve as a sequence of pages, but choosing that format changes how the audience will experience the slideshow.
Add the music and use Fit To Music to adjust the slideshow duration to the selected soundtrack. Preview the result because fitting the total time can make individual images move faster or slower than you intended. Sync Slides To Music addresses transition timing in a different way. Check the beginning and end as well as the overall pacing before exporting the finished presentation.
Select the shoot's photos and use Export As Catalog. Include Export Negative Files when the transfer must carry the originals, since catalog records alone are not the photographs. Review the resulting folder and move the complete required contents to the destination. Keep the source intact until you have opened the exported catalog and confirmed that its edits and original files are available.
Catalog upgrades can make the new catalog incompatible with older Lightroom Classic versions. Use an appropriate earlier catalog backup if you must return to the older software, and keep the upgraded version separately. Expect later edits made only in the upgraded catalog to need their own consideration. Retaining the pre-upgrade catalog is more reliable than assuming the application can simply reverse its catalog format.
Look for materials that have passed the Photographic Activity Test, often abbreviated PAT, rather than relying only on words such as archival or acid-free. Suitable enclosures must be compatible with photographs, including their coatings and processing residues. Choose a size that holds the print without bending or forcing it. Use clear sleeves only for photographs whose surfaces can safely tolerate that form of enclosure.

Place the image side away from the envelope's adhesive seam so that the seam does not lie directly against the photograph's surface. Use an enclosure intended for photographic storage and large enough to accept the print without scraping its edges. Keep handling to a minimum and avoid overfilling one envelope with a thick stack. A suitable material still needs careful orientation and a comfortable fit.
Use a suitable window mat or spacer to separate the photograph from the glazing. Direct contact can create problems, especially when moisture becomes involved. Choose framing materials compatible with photographic storage and avoid taping the image directly to the glass. If a print is already stuck to glazing, do not pull it free as an ordinary reframing step; seek advice before disturbing the image surface.
Choose an ND filter when excessive light prevents the shutter speed or aperture you want. Choose a circular polarizer when you want to control reflections from surfaces such as water or glass. They solve different problems. A polarizer also loses some light, but that does not make it a substitute for a chosen ND strength. Start with the effect you need, then check the lens’s filter size.

Not necessarily. The lens’s focal length and its front filter-thread diameter describe different things. Find the specified filter size on the lens or in its manual, then buy that diameter or a suitable adapter arrangement. Do not choose a filter from the focal-length number alone. Two lenses with the same focal length can have different front fittings.

The extra reach comes with light loss. A 1.4× teleconverter costs about one stop; a 2× costs two. For example, an f/2.8 lens becomes effectively f/4 with 1.4× or f/5.6 with 2×. Account for that change when selecting shutter speed and ISO, especially for moving subjects in dim light.
No. Match the exact lens, teleconverter and camera combination against the maker’s compatibility information. Sharing a mount does not guarantee physical clearance or working autofocus. Nikon notes that not every NIKKOR lens accepts every teleconverter, and many wide-angle lenses are unsuitable. Do not force an unsupported combination together to see whether it works.
Cross-polarization can appear near or beyond a variable ND filter’s usable range. Back off the density and check the full frame, especially with a wide-angle lens. Hoya’s Variable Density II instructions warn that the effect may appear earlier below a 28 mm full-frame-equivalent field of view. Do not treat the darkest possible rotation as a clean, usable setting; change the exposure plan if the needed density exceeds the filter’s usable range.
Light can enter through an uncovered optical viewfinder when your eye is no longer shading it, potentially affecting a long exposure. Use the camera’s eyepiece shutter or the correct cover if its instructions call for one. Hoya also recommends closing or covering the optical viewfinder during long exposures with its variable-density filter. This concerns an optical viewfinder; do not assume a mirrorless electronic finder has the same light path.
A ball head lets you loosen one main control, reposition in several directions and lock again quickly. A three-way head separates the axes, so changing one angle need not disturb the others. Choose by how you work: fast reframing favors a ball head, while carefully aligning a still subject may suit separate controls. Support the camera while loosening either type and check the chosen head’s load and plate compatibility.

Gears make small framing adjustments easier to dial in without releasing the camera into free movement. That can help when aligning architecture, products or other static compositions. It is a precision choice rather than a requirement for every tripod. Compare adjustment travel, weight and quick-release fitting before buying; a geared head that suits careful indoor work may be inconvenient for a lightweight walking kit.

Start with white when you want a gentler reflected fill. Silver returns a stronger, more contrasty light, so its angle needs careful watching. Move and tilt the panel while looking at the actual face or object instead of choosing by panel color alone. Profoto distinguishes white, silver and warming surfaces for different effects; the brightest reflection is not automatically the most flattering result.
