Reduce the Search Radius so the tool looks for contrast closer to your intended path, and place points more deliberately near difficult boundaries. A larger radius tolerates less precise cursor placement but can search a wider competing area. Adjust the edge-detection settings only after inspecting the local contrast. Review and move misplaced nodes before completing the selection instead of accepting a visibly incorrect outline.
Increase Anchor Gap so the interactive mode places points farther apart. Smaller gaps give finer tracking but create more nodes to edit afterward. The gap uses screen dimensions, so zoom level also affects how that spacing relates to the image. Test a short curve, then balance easy editing against enough points to follow the shape's corners and changes of direction.
Mark the unwanted area and start with a patch size suited to the surrounding texture: smaller for fine repeated details and larger for broad elements. Increase Accuracy only if the result needs more sampling, since it also takes longer. Inspect the replacement for repeated patterns or broken edges. The tool borrows existing image material, so a plausible fill still needs your visual judgment.
Use Split Alpha, Alpha into Mask on the paint layer, then use the created mask's Split Alpha, Save Merged command for the export. Ordinary compositing can discard color values where alpha is zero. This matters for texture workflows that deliberately store useful edge colors beneath transparency. Keep the editable source and verify the exported texture in its destination application before relying on those hidden color values.
Open Manage Resources, enable Show Deleted Resources, select the deactivated preset, and use Undelete Resource. Removing a resource from the chooser generally deactivates it rather than immediately erasing its physical file. Check the resource type and search filters if it still seems missing. This recovery route is preferable to importing multiple new copies before determining whether the original preset remains available.
Use Manage Resource Libraries to create a resource bundle. Choose the presets and other needed resources, add the relevant tags and identifying details, then save the bundle file. PNG uses lossless compression and supports full alpha transparency, so it can preserve crisp edges and transparent backgrounds without lossy compression artifacts. It can be larger than JPEG for complex continuous-tone images, so consider the actual artwork and destination. Keep the layered KRA separately for editing. A suitable sharing format preserves the visible result, but it does not replace the source document's working structure.
Check that onion skinning is enabled on the animated layer and that the layer is not fully opaque. A white-painted background is still opaque, so it can hide the neighboring frames instead of acting like transparent animation paper. Put the drawing on an appropriate transparent layer and keep a separate background below it. Then adjust onion-skin opacity to make the neighboring poses readable.
Use the Onion Skin docker to enable only the nearby frame offsets you need and reduce their individual opacities. The central control adjusts overall visibility, while tint and previous or next frame colors help distinguish time direction. Start with a small number of useful reference poses. More visible frames can add clutter without improving your judgment of the movement between the current drawings.
Instant Preview draws temporary feedback on a reduced canvas while the full stroke is calculated. At a zoom where there is no useful reduction, the benefit can be small. Some brush settings also limit preview compatibility; inspect the brush's Instant Preview control for explanations. Check both the global toggle and brush setting before changing hardware settings, and compare performance on the actual large-canvas task you are doing.
Prewash it to remove sizing that can interfere with paint adhesion, and let it dry before painting. Put a protective barrier inside so paint does not bond the front to the back. Test your paint-and-medium combination on a spare piece or inconspicuous area because fabric absorbency changes the result. Follow the specific medium's instructions; ordinary acrylic paint alone can leave a stiff area.
